Florida public schools require a physical for kindergarten entry and again in 7th grade. Many daycares also require an annual physical.
Most student athletes need an annual physical to participate in school sports, starting in middle school and every year through 12th grade.
Most camps require a physical completed within the past year. Check with your camp directly to confirm their requirements.
Even when a physical isn't required, the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends an annual well-visit for every child — it's the best way to make sure your child is growing, developing, and staying on track.

Locations and Dates are coming soon!

Some services, including immunizations, may require a follow-up visit at your nearest Bluebird Kids Health location. Your child's care team will let you know at the visit.

Urgent care can complete the forms, but it's not the same as having a pediatrician who knows your child. A physical at Bluebird Kids Health is a chance for your child's care team to get to know them: their growth, their history, and anything you've been wanting to ask. It's the kind of care that's harder to get when you're just passing through.
Similar to urgent care, we'll do our best to make booking the appointment as convenient as possible, offering same-day appointments whenever we can.
Good news: They're all essentially the same visit. A check-up, a physical, a well-visit — these are just different names for your child's annual appointment with their pediatrician. During the visit, your care team will review growth and development, update vaccinations, complete any required screenings, and check in on how your child is doing overall.
If your child needs a form signed for school, sports, or camp, just let us know when you book. We'll make sure everything is taken care of.
We recommend booking at least a few weeks ahead — especially in the summer, when back-to-school and sports physicals are in high demand. That said, if you're in a pinch, we offer same-day and next-day appointments and will always do our best to fit you in.
Do note that physicals are good for 365 days, so you don't need to wait until the summer to schedule.
Not much! If it's your child's first visit with us, it helps to bring any previous vaccination records or health history you have on hand. However, that's not at all required and we'll take care of it on our end. If your child needs a form completed for school, sports, or camp, bring that along too and we'll make sure it gets filled out on time.
Yes. If your child's school, sport, or camp requires a specific form, just bring it to the appointment and we'll complete it for you. If you're not sure whether your child's upcoming visit covers everything the form requires, give us a call and we'll help you figure it out before you come in.
Nope! Walk-ins are welcome. However, we do recommend scheduling an appointment to reduce your wait time
